Who We Are

About
Glocal Films UK

A British film production house rooted in the cultural heart of Odisha, with eyes firmly set on the international stage.

Our Story

Glocal Films UK Limited was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that the most compelling stories are those rooted in place, community, and lived experience — and that these stories deserve to travel the world.

The company was conceived through a meeting of two like-minded Odia visionaries: Partha Sarathi Panda, a London-based cultural entrepreneur originally from Jagatsinghpur, and Jitendra Mishra, an internationally acclaimed filmmaker from Titlagarh who has dedicated his career to value-based cinema. Their shared conviction — that regional Indian narratives belong on global screens — forms the DNA of everything we do.

Registered and headquartered in Gravesend, England, Glocal Films UK operates at the intersection of British production infrastructure and the rich, underrepresented storytelling traditions of Odisha, India.

"Cinema is the most democratic of all art forms. When a story from a village in Odisha resonates with an audience in London or Cannes, that is not magic — that is the power of authentic human storytelling."

— Jitendra Mishra, Director & Co-Founder

Our Mission

To elevate regional Indian cinema to the highest international platforms, preserving cultural authenticity while meeting global production and distribution standards. We believe in cinema that moves people — across borders, languages, and generations.

"We call ourselves Glocal because we are deeply local in our roots and fiercely global in our ambitions. Odisha has 5,000 years of story to tell. We are just getting started."

— Partha Sarathi Panda, Producer & Co-Founder

Our Values

Authenticity

Every film we produce begins with a real story, a real community, and a real need for that story to be told. We do not manufacture drama — we find it in the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.

Cultural Respect

We approach our subjects with deep reverence for the communities whose stories we carry. Our productions involve local talent, local crews, and local consultants at every stage of the process.

Global Standard

An Odia story told on a global stage deserves global production quality. We partner with industry-leading professionals in cinematography, sound, post-production, and distribution to ensure our films can compete with the very best international cinema.

Social Impact

We are proud partners of Cinema4Good, the award-winning initiative founded by Jitendra Mishra that uses cinema as a vehicle for social change. Every Glocal Films UK production is created with an awareness of the impact it can have on communities — both on screen and off.
